365 is the number of days in a year, but for Ohm, it means more. He made a promise to himself to take a photo every day for 365 days, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, when many people were struggling to survive. For Ohm, this was a way to prove that he could accomplish something meaningful, even in the face of adversity.

This project is like a diary of Ohm’s life throughout one year. It’s not just about taking pictures of food and things at his job. It reflects many things, including what’s happening around him and what’s going on in his thoughts, emotions, and conscience. Ohm captured images of a dead fish being tested for COVID-19, junk food that looks just like real junk, unusual symbols in Thai society that many people understand, and some pictures that are hard to explain, even to Om himself. These pictures are like events that come and go, almost like imaginary stories that seem real. Some are really important on a national level, while others are as small as a dust from the perspective of others. But they are significant and can be understood best by someone who faces these situations alone.

Anawat Petchdomsinsuk (Ohm) was born in the year 1994 and lives in Bangkok. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Silpakorn University. Currently, he works as a freelance food photographer and is actively creating artistic works using food and objects as his primary medium.

365 สำหรับหลายๆคน คือจำนวนตัวเลขของวันในหนึ่งปีที่กองรวมกันอยู่ในปฏิทิน แต่สำหรับ โอม-อนวัช มันเป็นดังตัวเลขศักดิ์สิทธิ์ และพันธสัญญาที่เขาทำไว้กับตัวเองว่าต้องบรรลุการถ่ายภาพหนึ่งภาพในทุกๆวันตลอด 365 วัน ภายใต้สถานการณ์การระบาดของโควิด-19 ที่ทุกคนต้องกระเสือกกระสนหนีจาก “มฤตยูรายวัน“ รวมทั้งโอมที่ไม่มี ทั้งงานและเงิน ทั้งจากแรงกดดันจากภายในจิตใจที่อยากจะพิสูจน์ว่า คนอย่างเขาก็สามารถทำอะไรบางอย่างให้สำเร็จได้

โครงการภาพถ่าย 365 จึงเป็นเหมือนบันทึกการเอาชีวิตรอดในตลอดช่วงเวลาหนึ่งปีของโอม ที่ไม่ได้เป็นแค่ภาพถ่าย อาหารและสินค้าในงานของเขาเท่านั้น แต่มันสะท้อนหลายสิ่งอย่าง ทั้งเรื่องภายนอกที่เข้ามากระทบ และเรื่องที่ออกมาจาก ความคิด จิตใจ และจิตใต้สำนึก เช่นภาพของปลาตายกำลังอมที่ตรวจ ATK, ภาพถ่ายอาหารขยะที่เป็นเหมือนขยะจริงๆ, สัญญะประหลาดในสังคมไทยที่หลายคนเข้าใจร่วมกัน และบางภาพที่ไม่อาจอธิบายได้แม้แต่ตัวของโอมเอง สิ่งเหล่านี้จึง ไม่ต่างกับปรากฏการณ์ระหว่างวันที่เกิดขึ้นมาแล้วก็หายไปราวกับเรื่องสมมติที่ดูสมจริง บางเรื่องดูยิ่งใหญ่สำคัญระดับชาติ แต่บางเรื่องดูเล็กน้อยเท่าฝุ่นผงในมุมมองของคนอื่นๆ แต่กลับสลักสำคัญอย่างยิ่งยวด และรับรู้ได้เพียงคนที่เผชิญหน้า อย่างโดดเดี่ยวในสภาวะเหล่านั้น

อนวัช เพชรอุดมสินสุข (โอม) เกิดเมื่อปี 2537 อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพฯ จบการศึกษาจากคณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ปัจจุบันเป็นช่างภาพอาหารฟรีแลนซ์ และกำลังสร้างผลงานเชิงสร้างสรรค์โดยใช้อาหาร และสิ่งของเป็นสื่อหลัก
